Let The Climbing Begin!

When Brandon and I discussed moving the girls to toddler beds a few weeks ago, we both knew that they weren't ready. I had a feeling that bedtime would involve us putting them down, hearing noise from their room and going in to find that they were reading books or playing with toys. Or perhaps we would find that they had pulled all of their clothes out of the drawers. In any event, they aren't ready.

Then I cursed myself. "Besides, it really isn't an issue until they start climbing out of their cribs." Brandon called me at work yesterday. The babies had just woken up from their nap and he left Emma in the crib while he changed Anna's diaper. That's when she did it. Emma threw one little leg up on the side of the crib, got up on her tippy toes on the other foot, and started grunting!

They have both started climbing up in our recliners and on the couch. That scares us enough, (I know, we are a wee bit overprotective) but out of the crib!! That's how limbs get broken!

The plan for now is not to leave one baby in by herself. That seems to be what provoked it this time and we don't want her getting any more practice!
